29.6.11

2011 - Day 180

Iron the last shirt you'll wear,
Shut out from the world large,
Face your enemy, feel his stare.

Grip the steel, hold nothing back,
Your country, your family, your honor,
If you don't, then he'll attack.

Strike first, aim for the heart,
No turning back from your destiny,
Finish what the others did start.

No end in sight, nowhere close,
You'll die alone, left to rot,
This is the life you chose.

Your last moments, with your friends,
Warriors, all, protecting all that's 'good',
Worth it all, in the end?

28.6.11

2011 - Day 179

The single kiss
That did me in
That took away my freedom,
It fogged my brain
From common sense
Replaced with a facade kingdom.
Chemicals
They rush around
A frantic pheromone frenzy,
A zombie of love
A one minded track,
I don't see what my friends see.
They try to shake me,
Try to break me
Free me from my false castle,
They anger me,
I tell them to leave
My life's better without their hassle.
And then one day
The endorphins cease
And I'm left with my hollowed out self,
To see the truth clear
After all of these years
I now desperately need lots of help.
That won't happen again
I tell myself now,
Feels like waking right up from a dream,
But then I glance at a girl
My heart grows as big as the world
I can't help it! - You know what I mean!!

2011 - Day 178

I find out kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad,
The world spins with chaos theory,
To think we all are mad.
Living out our expectations
Wishing hard upon a star,
Communal individualism
Yet can't go far
Without a car.
See the future
Make a choice
Change it if you can,
Or if you'd rather
Remain as is
Sidestep life's unknown plan.
Continue on down murky roads
Feel around you as you stumble,
Keep moving forward
Determination
Let life's lesson make you humble.

26.6.11

2011 - Day 177

The crisp clean air and clear blue skies
The world around us comes alive,
We bask in the sunlight and dance through the fields
Then rest in the shade where the leaves act like shields,
A peaceful excursion, remembrance past
The days once were young but grew up extra fast,
Now we all follow unique and uncharted paths,
Till they all cross once more
Together, once again, at last.

2011 - Day 176

Oak-like with a touch of plastic
Flavors in the barnyard,
Subtle hints of worm farm soil
To taste the flavors can be hard.
Close your eyes and open your nose
The aromas seep through your pores,
Tilt the glass back
Give in to the taste,
Barbeque chips, margarine and more.
From time to time
You come across
Salty asparagus pepper,
Or tractor hay with a hint of feet,
A multitude of flavor.
Some you'll enjoy
While others not so,
At the end you might have a favorite,
But really the point
Of the whole expedition
To create a memory to marinate.

24.6.11

2011 - Day 175

Sit, sit down on your spherical chair,
Contemplate existence
For a minute,
Discover life before you share,
Tell the world what you find
Within your mind,
The dawn of time
Parallels with
The end of man kind,
A simultaneous flash
A cosmic second,
Goes unnoticed in diamond eyes
As stars dance like fireflies,
The skies
Filled with infinity,
Infinity filled with lies,
Specks of truth float
Haphazard through solar flares
On lunar rivers kept alive,
The shadows unrelenting glare
Steals the good, creates the fear,
But listen from within yourself
The difference can be seen there.
Then breathe deep,
The truth flows out from where you sit,
Exists until you fall asleep.

23.6.11

2011 - Day 174

Just before the sun set
Below the blue horizon,
A rainbow awoke from a cloud
Cast down,
Its vibrant colors surprising.
I watched as it
Reached for the earth,
Calico fingers stretching
For the dirt,
To grasp hold of natures womb,
Its Life cut short
Without sun light
Disappears with the shine of the moon.
But on this eve
The rainbow thrived,
The moon appeared
Up in the sky,
Yet the colors stayed alive.
An omniscient glow
Vibrates uncontrollably,
Instead of a static pose
Bright colors swirled round
Echoing, I heard it sing
Soothing voices made of rose
An unrelenting beautiful sound
Until slowly,
Slowly,
It Disappeared into the ground,
The last night rainbow I ever found.

22.6.11

2011 - Day 173

Can you mourn them everyday,
The ones who traveled far away?
They once lived here,
But did not stay,
And why they left
They did not say.
Moved from this life to the next,
Changed my life in all aspects,
Fills my soul with much regret,
Now never know what to expect.
Learn to love the life you live,
Don't take a second for granted,
The connections you've made, your family and friends,
Their bright love makes your world enchanted.
Loved ones lost, neither there nor here,
Will always continue to hold them dear,
I can see them when I look in the mirror,
They make me strong, help me beat my fears-
This day, second longest of the year,
More sunlight to reflect my tears.

21.6.11

2011 - Day 172

It's somebody's birthday,
Or so I've been told,
An amazing, sweet person
Her heart's made of gold.

She travels the world
Under the bright stars,
Across the huge Oceans,
There's no place too far!

Look into her eyes,
No malice or hate,
I speak from experience
This girl is just great!

So lucky I was
To meet someone like you,
Happy birthday Jenny Corcoran
I hope your wishes come true!

2011 - Day 171

Dawn of the languages,
Theory of man,
The greatest mystery
That exists in our land.
The Truth does exist,
Understandably so,
But the question remains,
Will we ever know?

20.6.11

2011 - Day 170

Infertile apple
Falls off the tree,
Hoping it's seeds grow and blossom,
Patiently waits
Autumn nights flicker by,
Drying up, on the verge of half-rotten.
Others have fallen
Burrow the ground,
Rich soil develops more fruit,
The sad apple watches,
Their gain to his losses,
Just wanted to join Life's pursuit-
To plug into nature
Connect with his roots,
Instead got the harshest of boots.
Leather faced, will die alone,
Never truly had a home.

19.6.11

2011 - Day 169

Welcome in the morning breeze,
So crisp and clean and fresh,
An early walk
You feel at peace,
Today you'll feel your best.
Do not waste
A drop of day,
Each second you grow older,
Instead face life
Head on and say-
An angel's on my shoulder,
I'll stay warm while she grows colder.

18.6.11

2011 - Day 168

What happens when the sun dips below,
When the sky flips around and the air turns cold?
The shadows arise
Dance to a rhythmic beat,
Like fog in a valley
Crawl through the land discrete,
Invisible tornadoes move through our towns and lawns,
The guardians of midnight
Until the break of dawn.

16.6.11

2011 - Day 167

Dreaming deeply, standing tall,
Beneath an emerald waterfall,
Magnifies the universe,
Old stars burn out, new stars rebirth,
Galaxies dance 'round, collide,
A spectacle hard to describe,
Our planet but a tiny dot,
An infinitely tiny spot,
A speck of sand, they all forgot,
The universe reaches to the edge of space-time,
You can access it all within your dream mind.

15.6.11

2011 - Day 166

Follow the path till you can't no more,
Then keep on movin' till your feet are sore,
Until you can't make it another millimeter,
That's where you'll find Mr.Magizeetereater.

He sits on his swirling purple singing chair,
That lifts him and flips him high up in the air,
He'll call down to you with his squeaky voice-
"To get up or to give in, you've got the choice!"

He'll laugh and he'll squeal and he'll reach up to the moon,
He'll tie a string to it and he'll make it a balloon,
He'll offer it to you but he'll have just one demand,
That you get up off the floor and you grab it with your hand.

He knows that you spent every ounce of your being,
Your body is spent, no use disagreeing,
Then he'll squawk and he'll chuckle and he'll reach down to you,
He'll say "Just touch my hand, I know you have it in you."

So you pull mega strength from the ground and the stars,
To hell with it all, you've traveled this far,
Reach up oh so slow, days go whistling by,
Till barely- just barely, feel his hand oh so dry.

What a glorious feat, you yell and you cry,
Your new moon on a string will fly oh so high,
You'll make it a shirt it can wear that's tie dye,
And you'll bring it to work and you'll give it cheese pie!

But instead of the promise from the weird grinning guy,
You wake up alone, oh what a mean lie!
And the road back to home is quite dark in your eyes,
Looks near impossible, small chance to get by,
You could ask all the how's or the what's or the why's
But instead you deep sigh and you hope you don't die,
'Cos no matter what happens, you may as well try.

14.6.11

2011 - Day 165

Write down the words
That flow from your heart,
A flock of ghost birds,
Together they part
In Infinite art,
With hats made of foil,
It's called a Rhyme Royal.

Scottish Stanza To a Mouse,
Eating up your favorite blouse,
Making messes in your house,
Chase him 'round from here to there,
Trap him in the corner quick,
Teach him now that life's not fair.

Gather 'round to here the tale,
The zombie owls on Deadman's Trail,
To walk alone you face your fear,
Dead owls swoop down, bite all that's near,
The Limerick owls make skin turn pale.

Monorhyme it one more time,
Common sounds where they grow thyme,
Sand and camels raining lime,
Bernstein Bears committing crimes,
Ask the most prestigious mime,
Then it's Catdog's time to shine,
Finish first or ride the pine,
The fish use chalk to draw round lines,
Race the sun's infinite shine,
My hands are bound, I've lost my mind.

13.6.11

2011 - Day 164

Do you remember
Middle school crushes,
Colored braces,
Riding yellow buses,
Building dirt jumps,
Backyard boxing punches,
Basketball camp and
A thousand sets of crunches,
Cards with the boys but
Saw no royal flushes,
Soap in the mouth while
That hypocrite cusses,
Sneaking out at night because
She was so luscious,
Making big mistakes yet
Discovering what US is,
Free to be yourself-
Naivety, 'nuff said.

12.6.11

2011 - Day 163

Eyes crusted over,
Arise from the shadows,
Search through the cobwebs
Grasp for a handle,
Spots form in memory
Give way to lighted paths,
Follow through the tunnels
To make it home at last.
Flowing gold elixir,
Music in the air,
Crowd of thirsty friendly dwarfs
With ribbon in their hair.
Dizzy spinning doppelganger
One foot and then another,
As the world fades to back
Run from one then to the other.
Distant fires
Burning tires
Find the buyers
They're all liars.

2011 - Day 162

Broken,
Confused,
Torn apart,
Abused,
Hiding,
Misused,
Shameful,
Obtuse,
Never
A ruse,
Lies
No truth,
Painful
They lose.

2011 - Day 161

Light reflects off the surface of the Earth,
Amplified by the serene sounds of nature,
Wave lengths of light and sound in harmony,
A dance to which we perceive,
Senses taken for granted,
Those without them envy,
But to then have,
Is to soon forget,
Comfortable ways,
Join us,
Forever,
Too little,
Too late.
Life
On
Re-
Peat.

2011 - Day 160

Utterly eternal,
Dancing 'round fires
That shouldn't be seen,
A house made of mirrors
Lies a sleeping Queen,
Fragile,
Agile,
Quick-witted Guardian,
Circles the obstacles
Destruction rewards the man,
His plan albeit
The heart of the dame,
Conquer the witness
For fortune and fame.
He might think it is,
But it's not a game,
Lessons are learned though
One and the same.

9.6.11

2011 - Day 159

A train on the horizon,
Heading towards the sun,
Rolling down the rusty tracks
It moves to the beat of a drum.
This particular train is curious,
It's cargo worth more than gold,
Destinations patiently wait
For objects that no one can hold.
Lies were told to the buyers,
They'll know it too soon I'm afraid,
As soon as the train passes through
No more human lives will be made.
Workers work hard to lay tracks,
Succumbed to the will of the train,
Prisoners of war, their minds wiped clean
Every city new victims to claim.
Eventually the world
Will wait for the train to arrive,
For with it now brings life force-
The innermost will to survive.
Until the train grows tired,
Slumbers in caves down below,
We will do all of it's bidding
It's 'motives' quite frankly 'Loco'.

7.6.11

2011 - Day 158

Sitting in the waiting room
Waiting for the news to come,
Listen to the rain fall sideways
Listen to the heater's hum.
Pacing up and down the hall,
You think hard, try to recall,
What happened on this fateful night
Will your friend move towards the light?
Or will he fight with all his might?
Try and calm your heartbeat down
Tell yourself he'll be OK,
No major organs crushed within,
The cuts and scrapes will go away.
The sounds you heard were not cracked bones,
There was no blood smeared on the ground,
The cries were howling of the wind
Your memories go round and round.
The Doc walks to the waiting room,
You ask him "Doc, is he OK?"
Walks right by you to your best friend,
The world begins to fade away.
He tells your friend "I'm sorry son,
Your friend, he didn't make it,
But all lives do come to an end,
Eventually we'll all face it."
One last breath
To breathe, no more,
What do the Heavens
Have in store,
Is there more
Or an empty door?
Faith is all we can ask for.

6.6.11

2011 - Day 157

Planes,
Passing by,
My eyes,
Up towards the sky,
Caves,
Deep in the core,
My mind,
Under the floor,
Walking tight ropes
Not much to hope,
Find the medium.
Center of balance,
Release from it all,
No longer malice-
Just Light
And you.

2011 - Day 156

A meadow, soft, and rolling hills,
Families come to take their stills,
Photos lasting longer than
The letter written with the pen,
And that is exactly what kills me.

A useful tool outside our heads,
We mix them up with blues and reds,
Until memory becomes a dream
Until the water turns to steam,
Forgotten thought, our tears are shed.

Capture time and space itself,
A piece of soul is taken out,
To what extent, God only knows
But just like wine the future flows,
Drink up or store it on the shelf-
This is what defines you.

2011 - Day 155

Show the world what you can be,
Make It understand you,
Magic at high velocity,
Unhindered movement, you choose to.
When all is right, our Universe,
The fates they can't deceive us,
Reminded of why and who you are,
The elements use a fine paint brush.
So who waits for us
The end of the road,
Old friends standing there,
A brilliant white wall
Standing 90 feet tall
To remind us of why we care.
Troubled eyes
Do mesmerize
Tell us of your guilt,
Have none you say?
So that's how you play,
Fallen leaves do rot and wilt.

4.6.11

2011 - Day 154

Catch me in the act
A tremendous flurry,
Hatchback double parked
Get too close
Sometimes blurry,
Outstanding fundamentals
In an ocean
Hot red curry,
The dreaded pirates
Pass the scurvy,
Quite groovy,
Or just enough,
When chaos dances smoothly.
Who drove me,
From here to there
The between parts pass right through me,
Only positive movies
Can maybe soothe me,
The large boat
They missed the buoy,
Now it's too late,
Straight
To the depths
Far to great,
Latch to my soul
My soul mate
Captivate
Or disseminate.
No matter where your crew be,
Find the true breeze.

2.6.11

2011 - Day 153

The dawn of twenty-four,
Swinging pendulum
Drones out the night,
Lights the day.
The honorary guest
A Show called Life,
Showing each other that we can count,
Fingers and Toes,
Audience applause
Until next show.
Pseudo-electric jolt
Natures Eternal Alarm Clock,
Created,
Five cents a card.
Still,
We are here
Together,
So
Reason to celebrate-
Cheers!

1.6.11

2011 - Day 152

The tops spins and we watch it,
Waiting for the answer,
Will we end up happy and blessed
Or will It end with cancer?
Can't wait all life in spinning
Chaos rules supreme,
Instead take life head on
Swing from the high beam.
Those who see the top topple
Might know how It all plays out,
But instead of life's adventures,
A life filled with sauerkraut.
Live
Live
Live,
Because,
Life Is Beautiful.

2011 - Day 151

Poor old dog wanders
Blind as a bat,
Fur falling off slowly
Chased by alley cats.
Nowhere to go
No man to love,
Legs wobble softly
Birds watch from above.
Memory short,
Stomach so tiny,
Withering sickness
But nobody's crying.
His old owner paused
For a second no less,
Before moving on
The next puppy so fresh.
We live forever
Or so it may seem,
Do dogs go to Heaven?
In stars they do gleam.

2011 - Day 150

Put some pep
In your step,
Throw some charcoal
On the grill,
Rub some lotion
On your shoulders
Enjoy your time
It's yours to kill.
Every now and then
Extended weekend
In our grasp,
Friends and sun and family,
Summer
Time elapse.

2011 - Day 149

He travels round the world,
By Ocean and by plane,
Every inch there is to see
Connection is his game.
He carries round a notebook,
Each page filled with small squares,
Each square contains a unique smell
Landmarks and Scents he pairs.
So smelling the smell of a doughnut,
Might bring up visions of France,
Or a deep hearty whiff of strawberry
Brings Spain where he had a romance.
Smell and View matched side by side
Next vacation won't step outside
Instead will sit and watch the tide
And read with his nose
The world wide.

2011 - Day 148

Put a shell up to your ear,
What kinds of whispers do you hear?
The mellow splashes of some waves,
Or bouncing echos in a cave?
A beating heart,
Sizzling steak,
An old dog's bark,
Leaves under rake?
Rustled papers
White hot vapors
Loud mouthed neighbors
Tasty flavors?
All of the above and more
Coming from within your core,
Listening and waiting for
What the world has in store.
