Just before the sun set
Below the blue horizon,
A rainbow awoke from a cloud
Cast down,
Its vibrant colors surprising.
I watched as it
Reached for the earth,
Calico fingers stretching
For the dirt,
To grasp hold of natures womb,
Its Life cut short
Without sun light
Disappears with the shine of the moon.
But on this eve
The rainbow thrived,
The moon appeared
Up in the sky,
Yet the colors stayed alive.
An omniscient glow
Vibrates uncontrollably,
Instead of a static pose
Bright colors swirled round
Echoing, I heard it sing
Soothing voices made of rose
An unrelenting beautiful sound
Until slowly,
Slowly,
It Disappeared into the ground,
The last night rainbow I ever found.
